BANKS’S BLACK SEA BOATS ON THE MOVE AGAIN

 

Charting a new journey across the northern canals of England and Wales, the Banks’s Black Sea Boats have been repainted, dressed with new ropes. Renovated to concourse condition, these famous boats are covered in heritage, heralded across the inland waterways landscape for having completed the longest ever narrowboat journey in the world - from the Black Country in th UK to the Black Sea.

 

Two of the most famous boats on the canal scene, briefly once an ambassador for the famous Banks's brewing company, are finally on the move again.

Nick & Caroline on the Canal

Dr Caroline Taylor, retired south London GP has for 10 years been at the helm of her butty Tewkesbury. As well as being Nick's motorcycle pillion partner in the Americas, India and Africa, she has also undertaken multiple narrowboat journeys in the UK

Nick Sanders has been sailing narrowboats for 48 years. As well as sailing his own pair to the Black Sea, he created a 10 part BBC TV series called 'Sanders of the Canal' and a horse-drawn boat journey from Liverpool to London and back called 'The Chocolate Run'
