15th May
The journey has restarted from Bordeaux and I rode 40 miles from Bordeaux to a small town / village Saint Medard de Guizieres. I found a 'Logis' hotel for 65 euros and pizza place down the road and I'm in bed writing a short blog.
Tomorrow I ride 200 miles. I want to get home. It's time. 200 miles tommorow, 120 the next day then 200 miles again and the rest to get me into Amsterdam - job done. Adventure over. Around the world by e-cycle in the bag so to speak. Until I reach Amsterdam the journey has not accomplished it's aims to be the first ride around the world on an an electric bicycle.
So even though this blog is a bit scrappy - it's NOW, it's up to date so let's work together on making this happen. I will be online as often as possible to keep you informed about my 'sprint' across France, Belgium and The Netherlands. I can go back and revisit slowly but right now it's all about taking the bike to the ultimate limit, that after nearly 30,000 kms I am going to try and take the bike to the point where it might break - but it really is an engineering marvel to have withstood what I have put it through. Watch this space. Watch Instagram. Please do support me for the last 5 days and thanks. Nick
Map of the Day
My map app seems to have lost the map of the day today, sorry about that
Gunning for you Nick!! You'll get there, I have every confidence in your abilities! You are a master of your craft. The best ambassador this country could possibly send out in to the World, taking with you curiosity of all cultures, friendliness, diplomacy and embracing everything in your path.
Hope you manage to get back home before Mach to rest up a bit...🚴💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏼☕☕🍩🍩
Be careful...200 miles will be massive..I have just done 60 miles a day.... See you at the festival..you will make it.
As with all your adventures/challenges Nick we all know it can be hard to have the energy left at the end of the day to put pen to paper & share what you have seen done. Please don't get complacent on the last few 100km. We Were hoping to catch up with you & Caroline for your last mach fest but we can't make it. I hope the mach goes well and is as memorable as the 1st one. All the best from the P family, Paul, Caroline Daniel & Louise.
You will reach your goal Nick,
I am convinced of that.
200 miles a day, I'd fall off my bike.
a crazy achievement
Have an accident-free ride and please don't get overconfident or careless in traffic on the last few miles
Best regards Harald
