26th October
The head wind was now strong enough to make it difficult to stand so after the first few long slopes out of Al Ghat I instructed the policeman to protect me from the wind and pace me until it calmed.
“One and half sugars in my flat white and I’d like it extra hot please”, I said.
They got me to my hotel and I never saw them again.

Haha you blew the cops' coffee budget! Well done Nick! Saudi seems like a fascinating place. Cycling deffo the best way to travel, slow enough to actually notice stuff and fast enough to make progress...but is it though?? If you were on the R1 you could lose the cops immediately and stop at various oasises/oasi whenever...what is the plural of oasis anyway?? Motorbike just nudges ahead me thinks...and punctures easier to fix 😆😉🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
